No account, no tracking, no ads. The app has no sign-in, no analytics and no advertising. Reading position, bookmarks, highlights, notes and preferences are saved on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to us, and we have no server that holds your data.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers the apps published by BArch Creative Studios, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, including BArch TEWAHEDO Bible for Windows and Android. It describes what the app stores, what leaves your device, and what choices you have. It does not cover the stores you install from or the websites you open yourself.
2. What the app stores on your device
Everything the app remembers about your use is kept locally, in its own data folder:
- Reading state — the last book and chapter you had open, and a short reading history.
- Your markup — bookmarks, highlights and notes you create.
- Preferences — text size, line height, theme, edition and language choices.
- AI settings, if you add them — the provider you chose and the API key you pasted. The key is stored on the device only, so the app can call that provider on your behalf.
- Files you export — when you save a passage or a study, the app writes the file where you choose (on Android, the Download folder).
On Android, this data sits in the app's private storage and is removed when you uninstall the app. On Windows, it sits in your user profile folder. You can clear preferences at any time with Reset preferences in Settings, and uninstalling removes the rest. Exported files are yours and stay where you saved them.
3. Network access
The Bible text, search index, cross-references and dictionaries are bundled with the app, so reading, searching and studying a passage need no connection.
BArch AI is optional and off until you add a key. When you use it, your question and the passage you are studying are sent from your device straight to the AI provider you selected — for example Gemini, Qwen, GLM, Groq, OpenRouter, or a custom address you enter. The request carries your own API key. We are not part of that connection, we do not proxy it, and we do not log it. The provider's own privacy policy governs what it does with the request.
The app makes no other network calls. There is no telemetry, no crash reporting, no update ping and no content download.
4. What we receive
Nothing automatically. We receive information only when you choose to send it:
- Email — if you write to hello@barchcreativestuios.org, we receive your address and whatever you include in the message. We use it to answer you and keep it only as long as needed for that.
- Payments — if you support a release through this website, checkout is handled by our payment partner. The card details go to them; this site never sees or stores them. We receive the order confirmation, not the card.
5. Permissions the app asks for
- Internet — only for the optional AI research you start yourself.
- Storage (Android 5–9 only) — so a saved passage or study can be written to your Download folder. Newer Android versions use the system file picker instead and need no permission.
The app does not ask for your location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, phone state or SMS.
6. Sharing from the app
If you use Share or Copy, the text you chose goes to the app you pick — a messaging app, an email draft, the clipboard. That is your action, and the receiving app's policy applies to it.
7. Children
The app is suitable for general audiences and collects no personal data from anyone, including children. There is no account to create, no profile, and no advertising identifier to read.
8. Third-party services
- AI providers you configure — used only when you turn BArch AI on and send a request.
- Google Play and Microsoft Store — if you install from a store, the store handles the download and its own diagnostics under its policy.
- Our payment partner — only if you choose to support a release through this website.
9. Your choices
- Leave BArch AI unconfigured and the app never uses the network at all.
- Remove a saved key in Settings; the next AI request will not be sent.
- Reset preferences to clear themes, sizes and AI settings.
- Uninstall to remove the app's local data and history.
10. Changes to this policy
If the app's behaviour changes — for example if a future version adds a cloud feature — this page will say so and the date above will change before that version ships. The current policy is always at this address.
11. Contact
